Well if the title of this blog doesn’t say it all, you guessed it, it rained. BUT the outcome was not like most of you might be thinking if you were in these wedding day shoes.. Complete bridal meltdown, right?!. Well you would be wrong. This ceremony took place with the intention of a little sprinkle (side note, we got more than that), but I said to our Bride & Groom… Get through the important parts, rush inside if it gets too bad. Well, I should have known these two would not skip any moment of this ceremony, embracing their vows, giggles, and views - It was literally just the two of them out there - Probably a slight downside to the guests who were getting a wee bit wet, but you couldn’t help but support the fact these two barely noticed anything other than the hands they were holding.
As Jess & Jeff recessed back down the aisle, I am prepared with towels close by, directions to the nearest washroom for a dry-off.. But instead my darling bride boasts (while dancing) “I cannot believe we got rain on our wedding day” - said in a thrilled happy voice.
Moral of the story, rain on your wedding day is good luck, you may not want to hear it, but believe it! Rain represents many things in different cultures – most of which include fertility, cleansing, unity, renewal, and tears (the good kind). As these two just welcomed a beautiful baby boy into this world, I would say, bring on the rain!
