Truth be told all my couples hold a very significant place in my heart, whether we have just six weeks of planning time together or two years, I never forget the opportunity I am trusted with in a couple’s journey to their I do’s - Which is a HUGE deal! Claire & Mike’s wedding was extra special, as both Claire’s mom and my mom were (actually still are) part of a prenatal parenting group that 35 years ago connected our families (and 4 others) while her oldest sibling was born just a week after I was - Claire would join the clan a couple years later. Spending the next 12+ years sharing birthday parties, gatherings, summers by the pool, this group of kids (all connected by birth dates) would be like a second family to me. Life as we know it, led us in different directions, which happens. Little did we know 15 years later I would be a Wedding Planner, Claire would be a Bride, and our world’s would be reunited.
Claire and her now husband, Mike, are high school sweethearts so their wedding day was a long time coming, and for one time in my 2021 wedding season, a couple that was not threatened by the fluctuating covid restrictions - An intimate guest list was the conversation from the start of wedding planning and that 24 person list was never altered. Their family cottage (with my complete approval) would be the perfect spot for these two spend the day, with comfort and ease, a place that they had spent much time and embarked on new memories.
The best part - 24 guests all seated at one table sharing stories (grandparents and all) where the journey of multiple generations led to this oh so special day.
So cheers, to the circle of life, where childhood friends remain beautiful humans, inside and out.
